CHESTER PA. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (10-8, 4-5 MAC Commonwealth) saw their season come to an end on Monday afternoon after being edged out by Widener University in the 4 vs 5 play-in game in the MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse playoffs.
The Lions looked poised for the road win opening with the game's first goal. Abbie Moist scored off a perfect pass from Kyra Lycett to give the Lions a quick 1-0 lead.
Widener turned up the pressure on the Lions and found themselves in front 4-1 after the first period. The Pride stifled the Lions in the second period taking a 6-2 lead into halftime.

Albright scored twice in the third period, getting within three goals on each occasion. Kayte Moist and Tortorice both scored in the third period not going down without a fight.
The Lions had one more comeback attempt in them blanking Widener 2-0 in the fourth period. However, the comeback was not meant to be as the Lions fell to the Pride in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse playoff action, 9-6.
Kayte Moist led the way scoring two goals for Albright. Lauren China, Kyra Lycett, Abbie Moist and Ashleigh Tortorice each scored once in the game.
Albright netminder Caelainn Morrison was strong in goal for Albright making 12 saves on the evening.
