READING, Pa. – The Albright football team welcomes FDU-Florham to Reading, Pa. on Homecoming weekend for another Middle Atlantic Conference showdown at Shirk Stadium. The game is set to begin at 12 p.m. between the Lions and the Devils.

FDU-FLORHAM TWO DEEP
Albright and FDU-Florham have squared off a total of 31 times in their respective program's history. The first meeting between the two schools occurred in 1979. Albright leads the all-time series holding a 21-10 advantage. FDU-Florham will make their first trip to Reading since October of 2021.
Last year's game between the Lions and the Devils was a low scoring contest featuring only one touchdown between the two teams. The Devils won the game over the Lions in a back and fourth contest, 10-2. The 12 total points is the lowest combined total in a game all time between the two schools.
Saturday's (Sept. 23) game will serve as the homecoming game for Albright. Albright is looking for their first win on homecoming since the 2016 season. In 2016 Albright took down King's College (Pa.) 27-7.
Javontae Wayman has been all around the ball this season defensively for Albright. Wayman heads into Saturday's game as the sixth leading tackler in all of the MAC Conference. The senior outside linebacker has 23 total tackles through seven games so far this season. Wayman is also tied for the team lead in interceptions with one, picking off the Delaware Valley quarterback in the home opener.
About FDU-FLORHAM
The FDU-Florham Devils enter Saturday's contest sporting a 1-2 record and are 0-2 in MAC play this season. The Devils won their first game of the year over William Paterson University 33-29 but have lost the past two games to Widener (30-20) and Stevenson (24-21). Saturday's game will be the third game on the road for FDU-Florham this season.
Coming into the 2023 season, the Devils were tabbed to finish fifth in the Preseason MAC Coaches' poll. The Devils were tied with Lebanon Valley in the poll each receiving 45 points.
FDU-Florham enters Saturday's game having the fourth ranked offense and the sixth ranked defense in the MAC conference. The offense is producing 354.7 yards per game and the defense is allowing 310.0 yards per game. The Devils have scored one more touchdown (9) then touchdowns allowed (8).
The offense is led by tailback Kwanir Edwards. Edwards is producing 5.0 yards a carry and went over the 300-yard threshold last week coming into Saturday's game with 318 total rushing yards. The rushing total is second in the MAC and Edward's five rushing touchdowns scored is tied for first in the MAC.
Defensively, the Devils have six tacklers that have reached at least 10.0 tackles this season. Additionally, FDU-Florham does not have a tackler that has reached the 20-tackle threshold. As a defensive unit, the Devils have done a good job at forcing their opponents into mistakes and turning the ball over. The unit has three interceptions and three forced fumbles through the first two games of the season.
