Former Baseball Standout Casey Lawrence Named to USA Premier12 Team

Casey Lawrence ’10 was selected to represent the United States of America in the Premier12 tournament. Lawrence will begin play alongside the rest of the USA roster on November 9.

READING, Pa. – Albright baseball alum Casey Lawrence '10 was named to the Premier12 USA tournament roster. Lawrence was one of 28 players to be named to the team.

The United States roster is made up of 15 pitchers and 13 position players. Team USA is one of six teams in Group A and will compete in the group stage from November 9-14 in Guadalajara and Tepic, Mexico. The top two nations from the six-team group will then advance to the Super Round in Tokyo, Japan, from November 21-24.

When tournament play gets underway on the November 9, Lawrence will join a pitching staff that has a combined 61 major league seasons under their belt. The full 28-man Team USA roster can be found here. 

Lawrence has spent four seasons in the major leagues with his most recent stint in 2023 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Lawrence made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2017, Lawrence appeared in 27 total games playing with the Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners and would go on to win two games with the Mariners.

Last season, Lawrence played for Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners the Tacoma Rainiers. The 2024 season was a successful one for Lawrence as he pitched the most innings in all of minor league baseball racking up 165.0 innings while winning 11 games in the process.
