READING, Pa. – The Albright College men's lacrosse team (4-4) dropped a hard-fought battle this afternoon to non-conference opponent Eastern Connecticut State (3-4) on the Lions home turf. In the end, the Warriors edged out the Lions winning the game 15-11.
A trio of Lions scored three goals on the afternoon pacing the Lions attack. 
Justin Moroney, 
Nick Antonio and 
Joost Van der Horst all finished with three goals in the contest.
For Moroney, today's game marks the fourth straight game scoring at least three goals. Moroney has been on fire as of late for the Lions scoring 14 goals over the past four games played. Additionally, the sophomore attacker added three ground balls to his overall stat line this afternoon.
Antonio was credited with four points today. Antonio added an assist to his three goals. After seven games played, Antonio is now up to 23 points on the season.
Eastern Connecticut State jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Warriors scored four more goals in the second quarter to take an 8-3 lead into halftime. Moroney, Van der Horst and Antonio all scored one goal each in the opening half.
The Lions looked to climb back in the game scoring five times in the third quarter. Van der Horst's third goal of the game came in the third quarter cutting the Lions deficit to 10-8 midway through the third. After three quarters of the play the Warriors were clinging to a 11-8 lead.
The Warriors stretched their lead back to four goals scoring the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Albright got within three once again late in the game on an unassisted goal from 
Nick Antonio. However, the Warriors defense stood tall over the final five minutes of the game to escape Reading with a 15-11 win.
Van der Horst scored three more times today now having scored 28 goals this season. Van der Horst has scored in seven of the eight games this season. Van der Horst ended his afternoon with five points adding two assists to his overall stat line.
Kraig Sullivan got in the box score recording his first assist of his Albright career. Sullivan assisted on 
James Elko's goal in the fourth quarter.
Elko finished with two goals on the afternoon for the Lions. Elko added an assist to finish the day with three points.
Rounding out the assists for the Lions this afternoon was 
Tyler Richards and 
Jack Burke.
