Key returners for the Lions include sophomores Angelo Hernandez and Darien Osmun. Hernandez was tied for the team lead in interceptions last year with three. Osmun also made in immediate defensive impact in 2023 leading the team in tackles (51), tackles for a loss (11.5) and sacks (4.5).

Osmun, Antonio Bargiel, and Jarren Rutter have been named as the team's captains for the upcoming season.

ABOUT Gallaudet

Friday's game will also be the first regular season game for Gallaudet who are coming off a 4-5 season including a 3-1 conference record in 2023. The Bison were 3-1 at home and 1-4 on the road last season.

Gallaudet's 2023 season was a tale of two halves. The Bison opened their season with four straight losses before picking up their first win of the season against Hilbert in their final game before conference play.

Gallaudet would go on to win three of their last four games (all ECFC conference games) scoring 100 points in their three wins and recorded a +/- of 37 in those games.

Key returners for the Bison include DréVaughn Mackall and Brandon Washington who finished as the team's top two leaders in both rushing yards and touchdowns. Mackall's team leading 847 rushing yards came in only six games played where he averaged 6.2 yards per carry and 137 yards per game.
