NEWTOWN, Pa. – Samuel Moratori of the Albright football team has been named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Player of the Week after a standout defensive effort this past weekend in the teams 38-14 win over Alvernia. Albright is 3-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
Albright is off to one of their best starts to a season since the turn of the new decade sitting at 3-2 overall. The Lions have won two straight games over Widener and Alvernia and head to Eastern this Saturday (Oct. 18) looking to make it three in a row. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. in St. David's.
Moratori led the defensive unit this past week that only allowed 14 points and 107 yards of total offense.
From his linebacker position, the senior Lion tallied seven total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Overall, the defensive unit combined for seven tackles for loss and four sacks.
In 2025, Moratori leads the team in tackles with 32 and is second in tackles for loss with 3.5.
