MADISON, N.J. – Men's soccer (5-4-4) went on the road on Wednesday afternoon for their final non-conference match of the season against FDU-Florham (9-1-3). The Devils protected home field winning the game 3-1.
After 45 minutes of play, the Lions and Devils were knotted up at one.
Gael Velazquez scored his first career goal for Albright in the 10
th minute of play. Velasquez's goal was unassisted as the sophomore Lion deposited the ball in the lower right portion of the goal past the FDU-Florham goalie.
The Devils scored 11 minutes later to head into the half level with the Lions. In the 75
th minute of play FDU-Florham took a 2-1 lead and added to their lead in the 88
th minute to secure the victory.
Albright's offense was active throughout the game ending with 12 total shots.
Martin Ramsay led the way with four and was followed by
Jose Serrano and Velazquez who each had two. FDU-Florham held a slight advantage in corners 2-1.
Mike Lawry started in goal and made 11 saves to tie his career high. The sophomore has made 49 total saves this season.
