ABOUT ALBRIGHT

Prior to the bye week, The Lions made a statement in the form of a 35-9 win over Widener for their first conference win of the season and their first Pretzel Bowl victory since 2017.

The Lions offense currently ranks second in the MAC with just over 400 yards per game (430.5) which includes the conference's best passing attack by a considerable margin. Chase Roberts' 1190 passing yards, eight touchdown passes, and 67.6 completion percentage all rank first among MAC quarterbacks. Also contributing heavily to the Lions' passing attack is Arthur Poindexter who currently ranks seventh in the nation in receiving yards (572) and fifth in catches (41) while playing one less game than all players ranked above him.

Albright's defensive performance against Widener was arguably their best of the season and the second time they've held their opponents to less than 10 points. Mark Fetterman's crew recorded three sacks and six quarterback hurries. First-Year defensive backs Evan Bryfogle and Amon McLaughlin have immediately stepped into key roles within the secondary. Bryfogle recorded his second collegiate interception which he brought back 40 yards for the team's first defensive score of the season while McLaughlin's seven pass breakups are tied for first among MAC defenders.

ABOUT ALVERNIA

The Golden Wolves enter Saturday's conference looking for their first win of the season and are coming off a 41-10 loss to Misericordia.

Alvernia's most versatile weapon on offense through the first month of the season has been sophomore Jayden Stanfield. Stanfield has recorded a team high 474 total yards from receptions, rushing attempts and kickoff returns which included 77 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine attempts.

Senior linebacker McCabe Piavis commands the Alvernia defense and has recorded a team leading 36 tackles to go along with a pair of sacks and an interception. Fellow linebacker Anthony Hugee ranks second with 22 total tackles including three for a loss and will be a key component in the team's run defense.
