ANNVILLE, Pa. – Men's lacrosse (1-4) played their third MAC Freedom member institution on the season in Lebanon Valley (1-2) on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions cut the deficit down to two late in the late fourth quarter but were unable to close the gap further seeing LVC leave with the 13-11 victory.
The Dutchmen jumped out to a 7-2 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back leading the contest from start to finish.
James Elko led the offense with five goals and an assist for six total points. Elko now has two games this year where the junior attacker scored more than four goals in a game. Elko is the team leader in goals with 12 through his first four games.
Joost van Der Horst had his best game on the young season scoring four goals and dishing out one assist for five total points. Van der Horst led with 10 total shots, placing six of them on frame.
Rounding out the offensive output was
Jack Burke who scored twice and assisted on two more. Burke continues to climb up the all-time goals and points list at Albright.
Hunter Fitterling and
Luke Williams were each credited with two caused turnovers. Fitterling has recorded at least two caused turnovers in four of the five games played this season. The senior defender added five ground balls to his overall stat line on the afternoon.
Williams added a team high six ground balls and was followed by
Justinus Park who also collected six ground balls.
