Schuylkill Haven, Pa. – Albright baseball (8-6) has won three straight games after beating Penn State Schuylkill (10-9) in both games of today's doubleheader. Albright won game one 8-5 and turned around to win game two 8-2.
The Lions continue to produce double digit hit performances through the early goings of the season. Coming into play today, Albright is seventh in all of Division III in team batting average batting .362 collectively. Today's two games saw the Lions score 16 runs on 22 hits to improve on their team batting average.
Game 1 Box Score: W, 8-5 (7 INN)
Two multiple run innings propelled the Lions to a game one victory over PSU-Schuylkill. A three-run top of the first inning and a four-run top of the sixth inning was the difference in today's opening game of the double header.
Albright trailed by one heading into the sixth inning.

After a
Jack Gilmer walk to load the bases,
Roman Berretta emptied the bases with a double into center field to take an 8-5 lead. All four runs scored in the inning came with two outs.
Austin Ozarowski worked out of a jam in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the save for the Lions. The save is the first of Ozarowksi's Albright career.
Berretta has been on a tear to start the year for the Lions starting all 13 games so far. Coming into today, Berretta's batting average of .500 was good for top 26 in all of Division III. Berretta went a perfect 3-3 today with a double, three RBIs and a run scored.
Deklyn Marks picked up where he left off yesterday, adding two more hits this afternoon to go along with three more RBIs. Marks has nine RBIs in his past two games serving as the team's designated hitter.
Patrick Ahearn entered the game in the fifth inning, throwing 1 2/3 innings of no run baseball. Ahearn picked up the win to move to 2-0 on the season.
Jack Gilmer earned three walks in game one and came around to score each time he was on base scoring a team high three runs.
Game 2 Box Score: W 8-2 (7 INN)
The Lions scored two runs in each of the first three innings to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
Chris Gorla got the party started in the top of the first scoring
Jack Gilmer and
Michael Avino on a two RBI single. The first inning single was a part of a two-hit day for Gorla, the third multi-hit game of the year for the Albright catcher.
After the first batters of the second were retired, the Lions once again put together a two-out rally. Avino singled home
Christian Eckstein and then Berretta singled home Avino for the teams fourth run of the game.
Two more runs came across to score in the third.
Plyler Hunter and Eckstein each had RBI singles in the inning.
The Albright pitching staff did not allow a run after the first inning.

Quincy Bell and
Tyler Boccelli combined for six innings of shutout baseball. The quartet only allowed one hit and one walk while striking out a combined four Schuylkill batters.
All nine Lions in the starting lineup had at least one hit today. Eckstein led the way with three hits.
Jack Gilmer, Marks, Avino and Gorla all finished game two with two hits each. Owen Morias earned his first start of the season in game two and picked up hit in the process.

Albright will head back into MAC Commonwealth play on Friday, March 21. The game will start at 3:30 p.m. against the Messiah Falcons.
