DEVON, Pa. – Baseball won their third straight game on Sunday afternoon coming back on the Rosemont Ravens on the road. The Lions scored seven unanswered runs across the eighth, ninth and tenth innings to secure the victory.
The win improves Albright to 5-3 on the season while Rosemont falls to 5-5.
Albright looked to be headed for a loss in today's game trailing Rosemont 5-0 heading into the top of the eighth inning.
Nick Barton got the Lions on the board in the eighth reaching base on a single and later coming around to score on a
Plyler Hunter sacrifice Fly.
Down to their last three outs heading into the top of the ninth, Albright found themselves down 5-1.
Tommy Lewman plated the first run of the inning on an RBI single to score
Roman Berretta. Barton followed Lewman in the order and doubled to bring home
Jack Gilmer cutting the deficit to 5-3.
Lewman scored on a
Michael Avino RBI groundout to make it 5-4. Plyler then followed Avino with an RBI double to score Barton tying the game at five all.
The Lions only needed one extra inning to break the five-to-five tie. Berretta scored
Christian Eckstein on a sacrifice fly to take a 6-5 lead. Lewman tacked on an insurance run with his second homerun of the week to put the Lions ahead for good at 7-5.
Patrick Ahearn shut the door in the bottom of the tenth to pick up the win and complete the comeback victory for Albright.
Albright mustered out 15 total hits led by Barton's four hits. The four hits ties a career high for Barton in a single game.
Berretta ended the game 3-4 with a walk and a run scored.
Aaron Kirby, Lewman and Eckstein all finished with two hits while combining for four runs scored.
Dominic Yeager started for Albright, going six and two thirds' innings. Yeager kept the Lions in the game giving the bats a chance to get going striking out seven Ravens along the way.
