READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (17-18) remained at home to face the Gators from Notre Dame of Maryland (6-24). The Lions would come from behind to win for the second time in as many games to win 5-4 in 11 innings.
Aidan Sturtevant drove in
Deklyn Marks on a sacrifice hit to open the scoring for the Lions to give them a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
The Gators would punch back with four unanswered runs to take a 4-1 lead after the top of the sixth inning.
The Lions would respond with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to bring themselves within one by a score of 4-3.
Roman Berretta and
Jack Gilmer each picked RBIs by ways of a single and being hit by a pitch.
With the team's backs against the wall,
Aidan Sturtevant came up huge again with his second RBI of the game to score
Nick Barton and tie the game 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
After neither team could plate runs in the ninth and 10
th innings,
Michael Avino drove a ball out to center field to score
Plyler Hunter and give the Lions a 5-4 win.
Patrick Ahearn entered the game in the 10
th inning and pitch two scoreless innings in relief to earn his third win of the season.
