BALTIMORE – Men's soccer (4-1-1) won their second consecutive game on Saturday afternoon beating Notre Dame of Maryland 2-1 on their home turf. The win is the third straight for Albright over Notre Dame of Maryland coming in consecutive seasons.
Over the last three seasons, the men's soccer program has won at least four games out of their first six played to begin the season.
Anthony Carabasi got the Lions on the board just before the whistle blew for halftime. The goal is the first of Carabasi's career for the Lions and it came off an assist from
Myles Mitchell. The time of the goal was in the 45
th minute of play. The assist for Mitchell was the first of his career.
Carabasi's goal tied the game up at one to one after a Notre Dame goal in the 36
th minute.
Martin Ramsay, who is having a great start to the season, scored the game winning goal for the Lions. Ramsay has scored in back-to-back games and is now up to four goals this year.
A career milestone was achieved today for the senior forward eclipsing the 50-career point mark. Ramsay heads into the next contest sitting at 51 career points. Additionally, today's game winning goal was the 9
th of Ramsay's strong Albright career.
After Ramsay's goal in the 60
th minute, the Albright defense held it down to secure the road victory.
Albright was on attack for most of the afternoon, tallying 30 total shots in the game. Ramsay led the way with seven and was followed by
Daniel Lowman and
Will Garnett who each had four.
Mike Lawry was called upon just once today making one save giving him his fourth win of the season.
