READING, Pa. – The Men's Lacrosse team will open spring sports for Albright with a home game against FDU-Florham on Saturday (2/14) at 1:00 pm.
Both Head Coach
Derek Stump '17 and Assistant Coach
Jason Masciantonio will be returning to the sidelines to lead the program. Coach stump embarks on his second year in charge of the program.
The team will be welcoming eight newcomers to the team this season;
RJ Ellerbee,
Gabe Reavis,
Semaj Moyd,
Derek Hanson,
Elijah Bowles,
Kamar Daniels,
Brady Etzkorn and
Garrett Valentine.
Back-to-back home games against Husson and Neumann will include the team's Face Off Against Caner game on Sunday (3/8) at 11:00 am.
Conference play will begin in April on the road at Alvernia (4/1) with the Lions hosting their first conference game against Messiah (4/8).
Senior Day will take place prior to the start of the team's final home game of the regular season against Stevenson (4/25).
Key returners for the Lions include seniors
Justin Moroney,
Ryan Conover and
Nick Antonio. Antonio enters the season with 98 career points looking to become the 10th player in program history to achieve 100 career points.
Moroney has recorded 64 goals in the last two seasons and ended with a career best 42 points last season. Moroney is closing in on 100 career points himself beginning the season with 84 career points. Conover can be expected to play a leadership role on defense with 38 career starts and 46 total games played already under his belt.
