NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) released their weekly Player of the Week honors with three Albright Lions appearing on the list.
Nadia Margaritov (women's tennis),
Renato Orsi (men's tennis) and
Landyn Shaw (baseball) were all named Player of the Week.
Margaritov wrapped up another perfect week, going 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles play. She has won her last six singles matches in a row, coming all in #1 singles play. This week Margaritov beat Alvernia 6-2, 6-1 and York 6-3, 7-5. The Player of the Week honor is the second this season for Margaritov.
Orsi has been dominant since arriving on campus. This past week was no different as Orsi won 6-2, 6-0 against Alvernia and 6-0, 6-2 against York. Coming into play this week, Orsi is riding a six-match win streak. The Player of the Week honor is the first for Orsi in his collegiate career.
The women's and men's tennis team host Immaculata today (April 14) at 3:30.
Shaw had arguably the best game of his collegiate career against Messiah. Shaw shutdown the reining national runner ups pitching a complete seven inning game striking out five while allowing only one run. Shaw and the Lions held Messiah to their lowest scoring output of the season within conference play.
Baseball travels to Kutztown today (April 14) for a game against the Golden Bears beginning at 3:00 p.m.
