NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has released their Players of the Week with three Lions earning recognition. Mike Lawry (men's soccer), David Garces Cifuentes (men's tennis) and Elicia Aponte (women's tennis) were all recognized by the conference. 

Mike Lawry had an amazing week in goal for the Lions, helping the team go 2-0 on the week in shutout fashion against Lancaster Bible College (LBC) and Berkeley College (N.J.). Between both games, Lawry saw eight shots total, and the Lions were able to capitalize off of Lawry's defensive prowess. In Wednesday's (Sept. 16) contest against LBC, the Lions won 2-0 with goals scored by Brady Divito and John Stum. During Saturday's (Sept. 19) home matchup against Berkeley, Divito and Zach Fratrik were able to keep the momentum going, helping Lawry and the rest of the Lions earn another 2-0 win.

Men's soccer will be back in action this week with a home and away slate. They'll head to Lancaster, Pa., to take on Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday (Sept. 23) at 4:30 p.m. before returning to the home pitch for their Homecoming game on Saturday (Sept. 26) against Lebanon Valley. Kick off for their Homecoming game will be at 5 p.m.

David Garces Cifuentes had an impressive showing during Wednesday's (Sept. 16) men's tennis home opener against Penn State Berks. Garces Cifuentes took on Joseph Martin at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. In No. 1 doubles play, he partnered with Matias Contreras to take on Talan Nguyen and Martin, winning in 6-1 fashion. Garces Cifuentes play contributed to the team's 7-0 sweep of Penn State Berks.

Men's tennis will return to the Albright College Tennis Courts on Wednesday (Sept. 23) for Homecoming week action against Muhlenberg. The match is set to start at 3 p.m.

Elicia Aponte and the women's tennis team swept Penn State Berks on Wednesday (Sept. 16), 7-0. Aponte had an impressive showing at both No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. In singles play, she faced Lannie Beck, winning in a pair of 6-0 sweeps. She then paired up with Allison Horick in doubles to find a 6-0 sweep against Beck and Maria Bowman. 

Women's tennis will see Homecoming week action against Muhlenberg on Wednesday (Sept. 23) at 3 p.m.
