READING, Pa. - A 44 point second half by the Pride of Widener University (10-10/6-3 CC) proved to be the deciding factor as they managed to battle back and take a 70-61 win from the Lady Lions (6-13/2-7 CC) Wednesday evening in the Bollman Center.
In what turned out to a whistle filled evening, the Lady Lions managed to go into the half with a seven point lead. Following the break, Widener powered right back with a quick 7-0 run to tie the game at 33-33.
Widener eventually took the lead and never looked back after the 15 minute mark, with strong play by Lil Carney, Casey Pritz, and Lindsay Isler. Carney and Pritz each recorded a game-high 18 points, while Isler tallied 12 points of her own.
One of the biggest factors to the Pride's success Wednesday evening was the 6'3” Pritz who led the contest with 12 boards. Overall, Widener out-rebound the Lady Lions 52-37, and with a combined 50 fouls both team's spent a lot of time at the charity strip.
Both teams were almost even at the line shooting around the 65% mark, while from the field Widener shot 36.2% and Albright 32.7%. Albright did lead the contest in total trips to the line with 38, but were only able to convert 25 of their attempts. Widener went 18-for-18 at the line.

Mallory Olsheski was the team's top scorer with 14 points.
Kari Ludy came off the bench and matched her career best 10 points in 15 minutes of action, and junior
MariLynn McMonagle recorded a career-high 10 rebounds.
Women's Basketball returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Elizabethtown College for a 2 p.m. conference game.
