Men's Golf Places Fifth at Falcon Classic

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Led by junior Matthew Osorio the Men's Golf team placed fifth out of 12 teams that competed at the 2010 Messiah College Spring Falcon Classic, earning a combined score of 329 (+41) Tuesday afternoon at Blue Ridge Country Club.

Taking the tournament championship was the host Falcons who recorded a final score of 309 on the day. In second place was Franklin and Marshall with a 312, followed by Dickinson College in third with a 315, and York College (PA) in fourth with a 326.

The individual title went to Franklin and Marshall's Cameron Warner who ended the afternoon with a 71 (-1). However it was York's Adam Dupler who really stole the show Tuesday afternoon as he aced the 13th hole from 190 yards out with a six iron. Dupler eventually closed out the match tied for ninth place with a score of 78 (+6).

For Osorio he closed out the Falcon Classic with a score of 76 (+4) to place sixth overall. Also finishing in the top-20 for the Lions was fellow junior Erik Thorn who recorded a final score of 82 (+10) to take 18th place.

In 30th place was Brody Blessing, who shot a 85 (+13) on the afternoon. Finishing in 35th place with a score of 86 (+14) was Brett Cybulski. David Morano was also in attendance at Tuesday's tournament, but was unable to finish the entire course.

Men's Golf will return to action on Sunday when they take part in day one of the Glenmaura National Invitational from Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
