SWARTHMORE, Pa. - After picking up their first win late last night the Lady Lions )1-7) looked to continue their winning ways this morning on the final day of the Garnet Classic. Unfortunately, the red and white were defeated by Marymount University and Cabrini College to end the weekend with a 1-3 record overall.
Earning a place on the All-Tournament team was senior hitter #
Danielle Ozment#, who recorded 23 kills and 36 digs respectively on the final day of the tournament. In the first match of the day, Marymount University defeated Albright in three-straight games 25-18, 25-17, and 25-23.
Ozment led the match with 13 kills and 15 digs. #
Casey McFadden# matched Ozment's team-high digs with 15 of her own. Setter #
Lauren Higgins# tallied 20 assists and #
Alyssa Hoogendoorn# recorded four block assists with Ozment.
In match two, Cabrini College also handed the Lady Lions three straight losses, 25-20, 25-23, and 25-16. McFadden and #
Morgan Heath# each recorded new career-highs in digs with McFadden tallying 23 and Heath 18.
Ozment finished second on the team with 21 digs, and #
Alexa Jones# totaled 13 digs of her own. Hoogendoorn and Heath each scored six kills, and Higgins posted 23 assists.
Volleyball returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Messiah College for their first conference match of the season. Start time is schedule for 7 p.m.
