READING, Pa. - Determined to get their season on track, the Lady Lions (2-8/1-1 CC) ripped through the Warriors of Lycoming College (6-7/0-2 CC) in three straight games Tuesday evening in the Bollman Center. Albright defeated Lycoming 25-22, 25-18, and 25-14.

Tuesday's win was far from easy for the red and white, as they looked to even their conference record. The victory bumped the Lady Lions into a four-way tie for third in the conference standings. The only two teams ahead of the red and white are Lebanon Valley College and Messiah College who are both 2-0 in conference play.

Having one of her best matches this season was freshman hitter #Christa Mantz#. In the three-game match, Mantz scored 11 kills on 26 attempts and was charged with only one error.

Behind her were #Alyssa Hoogendoorn# and #Laura van Bendegem# who each drove home six kills. Helping to set up her teammates for those crucial kills was setter #Lauren Higgins# with her match-high 19 assists.
On the defensive side of the ball, #Danielle Ozment# tallied a team high 12 digs, while #Casey McFadden# finished with seven digs.

For the visiting Warriors unforced errors proved to their downfall, especially in the third game. Combined Lycoming totaled 35 attack errors, seven service errors, and 10 receiving errors.

Hitter Tanya DeWalt led her team with six kills, and junior defensive specialist Emily Abel recorded 21 digs.

Volleyball returns to action this Saturday when they take part in the Stevenson University Tri-Match. In the team's first match they will take on Wilkes University at 4 p.m. Their second match will begin at 6 p.m. and will be against the host Mustangs.
