Despite winning the first set of its 2011 campaign, the Albright College volleyball team dropped both ends of a tri-match in Rowan, losing 3-1 to the hosts and 3-0 to Hunter College.

The Lions took the opening game against Rowan before ultimately falling 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-12). Sophomore Christa Mantz had team-highs with eight kills and 20 digs in the match. Classmate Morgan Heath had 24 assists.

Senior Laura van Bendegem added seven kills while junior Alysaa Hoogendoorn totaled three blocks.

Albright battled with Hunter through an extremely close opening two games but was swept 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-19).

Mantz (7 kills, 13 digs) and Heath (15 assists, 13 digs) turned in team-highs again, while Casey McFadden also had 13 digs.

Albright (0-2) is back in action on Tuesday with a trip to Penn State-Berks.
