The Albright College women's basketball team is back in action this Saturday the 28th as they host Messiah College in a Commonwealth Conference match up. In their last meeting with Messiah the Albright College Lions were plagued by turnovers, losing 80-36. However the Lions are coming off a win over the Arcadia Knights, and are looking to keep that momentum going towards the end of the season. Albright enters the contest with a record of 5-13 overall, and 1-6 in the Commonwealth Conference.

Coming up big on offense for the Lions on Wednesday was junior Kari Ludy, scoring 21 points, which is a team high so far this season. Ludy was 8-for-13 from the field against Arcadia, compared to six points scored in a 2-for-10 effort against Messiah earlier this season.

In Albright and Messiah's last game, senior Jenny Knobel and sophomore Meghan Boyle led the Lions in scoring. Both are coming off solid double-double performances against the Arcadia Knights on Wednesday. Knobel had 11 points, 12 rebounds and six assists while Boyle had 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Lions will be looking to both for leadership in this tough Commonwealth match up.

Another player to watch is freshman Amanda Tiritilli, who has appeared in every contest this season and leads the Lions in three-point field goals this year. Tiritilli scored 13 points Wednesday, going 4-of-6 from the field.

On the visitors side of the court Messiah has no seniors but is by no means without leadership, with seven juniors on a roster of 13. Leading Messiah are junior trio Kira Maier, Nicky Hess, and standout Dori Gyori, who have started every game this season for the Falcons. Maier leads the Falcons in steals this season and was responsible for three against Albright previously this year.

In addition to starting every game this year, Hess leads the Messiah in assists with 64 on the season. Gyori leads the Falcons in points scored with 269, an average of 14.9 per game. Gyori also leads in free throws and rebounds with 71 and 143, respectively.

Another Falcon to watch is sophomore Taylor Miller, who is the season leader in three-point field goals for Messiah. Miller sank three shots from outside the three-point line in Messiah's last game against Alvernia, as well as making all nine of her free throw attempts.

The Messiah Falcons enter the game with a record of 15-3 and 6-1 in the Commonwealth Conference.
