Albright College Lions (2-0)
The Albright College men's basketball team looks to extend their 2-0 start Tuesday on the road at King's College. Albright is 2-0 on the season after defeating Immaculata University and Moravian College in the Wyndham Reading Tip-Off Tournament. Senior
Dave Singleton was the tournament MVP, and
Zach Benjamin and
Kyle Jordan were also named to the All-Tournament Team.
After competing in two contests, Albright is led by Singleton with 19 ppg, 10 assists, and eight steals. The next leading scorer for Albright is Benjamin, averaging 12.5 points per game. Jordan has tallied 12 ppg and five steals; he is 10-for-15 from the line for a free throwing shooting percentage of .667.
King's College Monarchs (2-0)
King's Men's Basketball also is 2-0 on the season after beating Montclair State University and then Susquehanna University in a nail biting 44-43 victory. King's was named the Susquehanna Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament Champions, while Matt Fiorino was named MVP. Fiorino and Kyle Hammonds were both included on the All-Tournament Team.
The scoring leaders for the Monarchs after two contests are Tim O'Shea, averaging 11 points per game, and Fiorino, who has compiled 10.5 ppg, eight assists, and three steals on the season. Hammonds has also tallied 10.5 ppg on the season, with five assists, four steals and a block. Keyton Winder and Tom Heston lead the boards with 6.0 rpg apiece.

Reuel Moore made 5-of-6 three-point attempts and totaled 20 points in just 14 minutes of action to lead the Albright College men's basketball team past King's, 87-60.
All 14 Lions who saw the court scored in an all-around effort. Albright shot 32-of-57 from the floor (56.1%), and made 50% of its three-point attempts. Shane Irwin and
Derek Hall combined to add 20 points and 18 rebounds for the Lions. King's was lead by Kyle Stackhouse with 13 points and 4 assists, followed by Fiorino with 12 points, and Hammonds adding 11 while going 5-of-10 from the floor.
Coaching Staffs
Rick Ferry begins his 12th year with a 2-0 start for the Lions in 2012-12. Under Ferry's direction the Lions have participated in six Commonwealth Tournament playoffs, winning the Commonwealth Tournament Championship and claiming NCAA Tournament berths in 2003-04 and 2009-10. Ferry was named Commonwealth Coach of the Year in back-to-back season (2003-04 and 2004-05).
J.P. Andrejko begins his 12th season with the Monarchs as well with a 2-0 start. Andrejko has led the Monarchs to seven Freedom Conference playoffs, winning conference championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2004-05 and 2006-07. In the 2004-05 season, after taking the Monarchs to their first trip to the NCAA Tournament “Elite Eight”, Andrejko was named Freedom Coach of the Year.
This game will help prepare both teams as they head into the heart of the season and begin conference play. With both teams being 2-0 and Tip-Off Tournament Champs, we can expect a thrilling game from both sides of the court.
