READING, Pa. – On Tuesday (July 21) the Albright women's and men's basketball programs have announced additions to their respective coaching staffs ahead of the 2026 season. Women's basketball has named Mikayla Koch as the lead women's basketball assistant coach while Ben Ruemenapp has been tabbed as the lead assistant coach for the men's basketball team.

Koch will serve as the women's basketball lead assistant coach under head coach Alyssa Parsons for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Koch joins Albright after serving as an assistant coach at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU).

Koch served in multiple roles during her time at EMU being a graduate assistant coach before being promoted to assistant coach during the 2025-2026 season.

Before going into coaching, Koch played for four seasons at Lancaster Bible College. Over four seasons Koch appeared in 72 games for the Chargers concluding her career with 66 made three-pointers, 381 points, 191 rebounds, and 77 assists. Off the court Koch earned United East Scholar-Athlete Honors and was an advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Koch is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College before going on to earn her master's degree at EMU.

Ruemenapp has been named as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-2027 men's basketball season. Ruemenapp will serve as the lead assistant coach under the leadership of head coach Matt Chalupa.

Ruemenapp joins Albright after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Goldy Beacom College. At Goldy Beacom Ruemenapp led the team to new heights including helping them to their first NCAA DII Tournament appearance in program history, most single-season wins in program history (21) as well as leading two different student-athletes to all-conference honors. All achievements came in the 2025-2026 season.

Prior to Goldy Beacom Ruemenapp served as Gustavus Adolphus College's junior varsity head coach and varsity student assistant coach. Ruemenapp has been successful at both stops helping Gustavus Adolphus to their first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title since 2005 while also appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012 in the 2023-2024 season.

Ruemenapp is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and later earned his master's degree from Goldey-Beacom College.
