The Albright College men's basketball team fell to the rival Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley 77-67, in just their third loss of the season on Saturday.
Leading the way for the Lions was guard
Pedro Perez who had 20 points, three assists, two steals, and six rebounds. He and
Andre Marshall both drained four three's in the game. Marshall finished with 14 points.
Dave Singleton was able to shake off a cold start in Albright's previous outing, leading the Lions to victory in the final minutes. Today, he once again just missed a triple double, missing the mark by two assists. He scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds on the day. Singleton fouled out for the second time in three games.
The Lions only trailed by five at the half, but quickly found themselves down nine after
Kyle Burke layup early in the second half.
With just under two minutes left in the game, an
Andre Marshall three-pointer pulled Albright within three. Unfortunately, a
Kevin Agnew three and subsequent foul gave the Dutchmen a seven point lead with 66 seconds left to play.
Agnew would add free throws in the closing seconds of the game as the Dutchmen pulled within a game of the .500 mark on the season at 7-8; they are now 4-4 in conference play.
Albright is now 12-3 (5-3 in Conference). The Lions will return home on Wednesday January 16 as they take on Lycoming College at 8 p.m. in the Bollman Center.
