The Albright College women's basketball team looks to follow a successful holiday trip with another win as the Lions travel to face Cabrini College tonight at 7 p.m.

Albright College Lions (6-4)

Albright had a solid holiday trip to Florida as part of the Land of Magic Classic, beating Norwich 67-53 and Averett 70-58.

The Lions set numerous 2012-13 season superlatives while in Florida, pulling down a season-high 52 rebounds against Norwich and totaling 20 assists and 11 steals in the Averett win. Kadijah Bishop's 16 rebounds and Jessica Venturelli's four three-pointers against Norwich were both Albright season highs, as were Tara Sabotchick's 22 points and Venturelli's eight assists against Averett.

Cabrini College Cavaliers (7-3)

The Cavaliers are off to a good start this year, at 7-3 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, following victories over Notre Dame (Maryland), Immaculata and Baptist Bible.

Junior Brittany Sandone leads the team with 13.8 points per game while making 22 of 69 (31.9%) from behind the arc. All eight of Cabrini's top scorers also have double-digit assists on the season, led by Laura Caron (28).

Previous Meeting

With a timely run midway through the second half and a double-double effort from Meghan Boyle, the Lions were able to pull away and hold on for a 63-57 victory over the visiting Cabrini Cavaliers last season in the Bollman Center.

Boyle finished the evening with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks while shooting 5-for-10 from the field.

After neither side could pull away in the first few minutes of the second half, Jenny Knoebel gave Albright their largest lead of the game up to that point, 41-35. The Lions kept pushing and a jumper from Amanda Tiritilli on their next possession extended the lead to eight. Venturelli then gave Albright their first double-digit lead with just over 12 minutes to play when another successful shot from behind the arc provided a 47-37 advantage.

Sandone finished with 13 points and five assists for the Cavaliers, and Colleen Stewart shot 5-for-9 to finish in double figures with 11 points.

Head Coaches

Janice Luck is in her 11th season as head coach of the Lady Lions, and also serves as the co-director of athletics at Albright College. She earned her 100th career victory with a win over Alvernia late in the 2010-11 season.

Cabrini's Kate Pearson is in her ninth season in Radnor, Pa., and fourth as a head coach. She was a two-time All-American and three-time first team All-MAC selection at the University of Scranton, back when the Royals were in the conference.
