Softball Can't Bring Runners Home in Pair of Losses

Saint Mary's Box
Bridgewater State Box

The Albright College softball team left 14 runners on base but could only score two runs, dropping a pair of close games in Ft. Myers, Fla.

The Lions fell 4-0 to Saint Mary's College after allowing three runs in the fifth, and then dropped a 4-2 decision to Bridgewater State, again falling behind in the fifth inning.

Against Saint Mary's, senior Brandy Lagomarsino was 2-for-3. Aubrey Koch threw 1.2 innings of no-hit relief.

Leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Saint Mary's plated three runs to open up a gap.

Junior Jackie Bohanan was 2-for-3 with a run scored in the nightcap. Sophomore Natalie Carlucci and freshman Shelby Snyder were both 2-for-3 as well.

Koch pitched well again, allowing just two earned runs and striking out five in seven innings of work.

The Lions led 1-0 after Kiersten Gilfoy's RBI double in the first inning. They tied it at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but Bridgewater answered with the winning runs in the fifth.

Albright (0-6) will conclude its spring break trip with Thursday games against St. Joseph's and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
