The Albright College Lady Lions softball team traveled to Lebanon Valley on Saturday for a doubleheader and were unfortunately unable to steal a win from the Dutchmen, losing 8-0 in the first game and 9-1 in the second.

Albright was only able to muster four hits combined in the two games. First baseman Natalie Carlucci was the only Albright player to register a hit in both games, tallying one in both games

A five-hit, four-run second inning and a four-hit, two-run fifth inning proved to be the big innings for Leb Val as they were able to score early and often off of Lions starter Aubrey Koch.

Carlucci was able to advance to third base in the second after she started the inning off with a single to left field. After a sac-bunt and a Koch walk put Lions on first and second, an abrupt inning-ending line drive double play squashed any hopes of a Lions run.

The Lions faced much of the same in the second game of the double header on Saturday.

The Lions' offense was given a spark again by Carlucci in the second inning as the sophomore launched a home run to give Albright their first run of the day.

Carlucci would be the only Lady Lion to cross the plate however, as Albright could only only put the bat on one the ball for one more hit (a Kiersten Gilfoy single).

Senior Allie Frank was tagged for 11 hits and five runs by Leb Val in 4.0 innings. Koch came back to relieve Frank after throwing in the first game, giving up four runs in 1/3 of an inning.

With the two loses, Albright falls to 3-11 overall and 0-4 in Commonwealth Conference play. The Red and White will travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to do battle with Moravian College on March 26th. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
