In a re-match of their Commonwealth Conference semifinal, the Albright College women's tennis team was beaten 7-2 at home by Lebanon Valley on Thursday.

LVC defeated Albright 5-0 last spring, after the Lion women had qualified for their first-ever Commonwealth playoff appearance.

Albright lost despite taking the top two singles spots. Victoria Foanio swept Amelia Capuano in the first spot, while Alyssa Sell took a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Lauren Fulmer at second singles.

Those four players battled at first doubles, with Fulmer/Capuano escaping with a 9-8 (7-3) tie-breaker decision.

Elizabeth Bengtsson and Lauren Sperling put up a fight at third doubles, losing 8-5.

Albright falls to 6-3, 0-1 on the season and will travel to Bryn Athyn on Tuesday.
