The Albright College women's basketball team travels to Stevenson University on Saturday, February 15 for a 3:00 start.
Previous Meeting
Albright fell just short at home against Stevenson earlier this season, losing by a score of 62-54. Sophomore
Kelecia Harris made 8-of-12 shots to finish with 20 points, and senior
Meghan Boyle added 10 points. Both just missed a double-double, with nine rebounds each.
Albright trailed by 19 in the first half, 38-19 due to a pair of
Kyarra Harmon free throws, but closed with the final six points before halftime. Albright closed well with a Thomas three-pointer, making the score 38-24. Albright entered the half down 38-25 after a Harris free throw in the final minute.
Albright College Lions (13-9, 7-8 Commonwealth)
On Wednesday, Albright beat Hood by a score of 64-55. Harris finished the night with 20 points (7-of-11 shooting), 11 rebounds, and two blocks.
Kadijah Bishop, sophomore, had eight points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.
Kristi McFadden hit 4-of-5 shots for nine points and had six assists, which was the game-high.
Stevenson University Mustangs (12-10, 10-5 Commonwealth)
Stevenson played Messiah on Wednesday night and lost 76-45. Messiah scored the first 21 points and was up 40-10 at the half. Sophomore
Stephanie Martinez had a game-high of seven points, while 10 of her teammates totaled at least two.
Conference Tournament Outlook
Albright is in a three-way tie for the final Commonwealth playoff spot with Lycoming and Widener.
Stevenson is one win away from clinching a spot in the conference tournament for the second time in the past three years.
Stevenson Hosting Cancer Awareness Game
Stevenson will host its annual cancer awareness game on Saturday, with a focus on bone cancer. Mustangs women's basketball alum
Samantha Murray '13 was diagnosed with bone cancer in August.
To help commemorate the event, Stevenson's men's and women's teams will wear yellow shooting shirts and shoelaces. The first 50 students to arrive at Saturday's game will receive the same yellow shooting shirt and youth teams will scrimmage during halftime of both games, with all four teams wearing yellow.
