Albright College Lions (13-12, 9-9 Commonwealth)

The Lions did their job and got a little help across town from rival Alvernia, earning a Commonwealth Conference playoff spot with a 73-64 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday.

With Lycoming beating Hood 72-60, the Lions needed Alvernia to beat Messiah in order to win the tiebreaker. The Crusaders ultimately held off Messiah 69-63.

It was Senior Day but Albright's freshmen really put the team on their backs, as Josh Marquez (7-of-8 FG, 6-of-7 FT, 20 points, five assists) and Sameen Swint (5-of-6 FG, 15 points) were a combined 12-of-14 (85.7%) from the floor- the two best shooting percentages of the season for Albright.

Hood College Blazers (16-9, 10-8 Commonwealth)

Hood won a remarkable seven straight conference games that were decided on the final possession or in overtime, midway through this season. After beating Arcadia by two and the Lions by one, Cameron Cook hit three consecutive game-winners in the final five seconds to beat Widener, Lebanon Valley and Messiah. The Blazers proceeded to knock off Stevenson 63-62 and then survive in overtime vs. Arcadia.

Since then however, the Blazers have closed the season on a 1-5 stretch, including three straight losses at home. Hood could have helped Albright in their final game at Lycoming Saturday, but lost 72-60 after trailing by as many as 23 points.
