The Albright College softball team was swept by Saint Joseph University (Conn.) on Thursday morning, losing 6-1 and 2-1 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Albright had tied the game in the bottom of the second, after Saint Joseph opened the contest with one in the first inning.

Saint Joseph took the lead for good in the top of the third, on a two-run homer from Mary Sciglimpaglia that scored her twin sister Patti Sciglimpaglia. Patti also struck out nine to earn the win on the mound.

The Blue Jays won game two in walkoff fashion. Haley McCall tripled in the bottom of the seventh and then scored on a wild pitch.

Sophomore Shelby Snyder was 2-for-3 and scored Albright's lone run. Civitello again provided the RBI hit, while striking out five in 6.2 IP on the mound.

Albright is 2-5 on the season and will conclude its spring break trip tomorrow morning with a single game against Lasell.
