Box ScoreAlbright women's tennis took on Lycoming at home today and beat the Warriors 8-1.
Victoria Foanio and
Alyssa Sell dominated their Lycoming opponents at first doubles with an 8-0 score, continuing their winning streak for this spring season.
Foanio, the ECAC Division III South women's tennis Player of the Week for the third time in a row this spring, also continued her own winning streak at first singles, beating Lycoming's
Shannon Sheridan 6-0, 6-0 and maintaining her undefeated record of 10-0 for this spring season.
Sell also played an outstanding match against Lycoming, finishing in less than 40 minutes and not giving up any games with a final game score of 6-0, 6-0.
Erin Sullivan also did not give up any wins to Lycoming, winning 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles and beating Lycoming's third doubles with
Brooke Ronney, 8-0.
Albright freshman Ronney defeated her Lycoming opponent at second singles 6-2, 6-2.
Elizabeth Bengtsson, at fourth singles, played a long match after winning the first set 6-2 and then falling to Lycoming's
Sophie Herzing in the second set 6-1. The players then went into a third set tiebreaker where Bengtsson came out with the win for Albright, 10-4.
Melissa Carberry also played great singles to add another point for Albright, winning 6-2, 6-0.
This win brings the Albright women's tennis team's record to 10-5, 3-2 as they prepare to take on King's College next Thursday, April 24 on home courts.
