The Dutchmen scored five runs on five hits in the third as they took the opener in five innings.
LVC's
Sam Derr threw a two-hitter for the visitors, with Albright's hits coming from
Amanda Toto and
Jackie Bohanan.
Albright's
Natalie Carlucci homered in the bottom of the fifth to score
Megan Gaughan in the nightcap, cutting LVC's lead to 4-2 as the Lions threatened against their nationally-ranked opponents.
The Lions had also left five runners on base in the previous two innings. Albright loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth following singles from
Marguerite DeLucas and
Emily O'Donnell and a walk to
Shelby Snyder, but a flyout ended the threat.
DeLucas was 2-for-3 in the game, while Carlucci was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
The Dutchmen opened things up in the top of the seventh, as
Jordyn Miller hit a grand slam on a low line drive that just barely cleared the left field fence.
Albright is 3-12, 1-7 on the season, and will host Hood College on Saturday followed by two more at home on Sunday vs. Valley Forge Christian College. LVC improves to 15-0, 6-0.
