READING, Pa. -- Despite a strong first half of the Commonwealth Conference season the focus of the Albright women's basketball team remains squarely upon the next game on the schedule. That next game will take place on Wednesday (Jan. 28) when the Lions welcome Widener to the Bollman Center for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
"We are excited to be in the position that we are, but quite honestly we haven't accomplished anything yet," said head coach
Janice Luck. "All of the hard work we have put into reaching this point will be wasted if we don't continue to improve and work together as a team."
Albright enters the contest with a 13-4 overall record and a 7-1 record in conference play and winners of five straight games. The Lions are currently in second place in the Commonwealth standings behind Stevenson (9-0).
The Lions are coming off of a thrilling 70-68 victory over rival Alvernia in which sophomore
Shannon Thomas scored the game-winning basket at the buzzer. Junior
Kelecia Harris had 28 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over the Crusaders.
Albright leads the Commonwealth Conference in field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, three-point field goal percentage and rebounding margin.

Thomas is second on the team averaging 11.2 points per game and leads the Lions averaging 3.9 assists per game. She also leads the Commonwealth shooting 54.1 percent from the three-point line in conference play.
During the Lions five-game winning streak, senior

Albright won the first meeting of the season 76-69 in Chester, Pa., behind the play of freshman
Jane Joyce. Joyce led four players in double figures in scoring with 15 points, and she also had nine rebounds and three assists. Harris had 12 points and 19 rebounds and Thomas scored 14 points and
