READING, Pa. -- Winners of seven of its last nine games, the Albright women's basketball team welcomes old nemesis Messiah to the Bollman Center for a Commonwealth Conference game on Saturday (Jan. 10).
The game will be part of a doubleheader with the men's team and is scheduled to tip at 4 p.m.
Albright secured its second conference road victory of the season on Wednesday as it defeated Lycoming 61-54 behind 13 points and 10 rebounds from junior
Kelecia Harris. Sophomore
Shannon Thomas scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Lions and freshman
Jane Joyce added 11 points.
Albright, which is 4-1 at home this season, is led by Harris who is averaging 15.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Thomas is second on the team averaging 11.1 points per contest and leads the Lions with 20 three-point buckets.
Emily O'Donnell is also averaging double figures for Albright at 10.2 points per contest.
The Lions are currently 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Commonwealth Conference and occupy second in the league standings, while Stevenson is first with a 4-0 record.
Messiah is third in the conference with a 3-2 record and is 7-7 overall. The Falcons suffered a 57-49 defeat to Stevenson in their last game on Wednesday.
Messiah leads the all-time series with Albright 43-5 and the Lions have not defeated the Falcons since 2009.
