READING, Pa. - The Albright softball squad closes out the home portion of its schedule on Thursday, (April 23) when it hosts Dickinson in a non-conference doubleheader with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Lions are 15-12 overall and finished the Commonwealth Conference season with a 5-11 record after suffering two heartbreaking losses at undefeated Messiah on Tuesday.

The Falcons captured the opener 1-0, behind the no-hit pitching of Clarissa Mees and a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh by Courtney Allen.

Albright took a 1-0 lead in the nightcap on Armida Roman's third home run of the season, but could not hold on and fell 4-1.

Although the Lions have been eliminated from a chance to compete in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament, Albright is still has something to play for with six non-league game remaining.

A strong finish could land the Lions a spot in the ECAC tournament, which would be the programs first postseason appearance since the 2007 season.

Albright's 15 wins so far this season, are the most victories recorded in a single season since the 2005 team went 23-12.  

Junior Sammi O'Connor has registered 136 strikeouts in her initial season in the circle for the Lions, and needs just six more strikeouts to surpass the 141 recorded by Ashley Young during the 2006 season and break the single-season mark at Albright.

O'Connor's total is 53 more than her closest competitor in the Commonwealth Conference this season.

With a 9-8 record in 2015, O'Connor is just two wins shy of tying the mark set by Shannon Kline in 2001 and matched by Young in 2005.

O'Connor also paces the Lions with a .397 batting average, hits with 29 and 18 RBI at the plate. Roman leads the club with three home runs, and Brianne Long has scored 21 runs.
