Women's Soccer Falls to No. 12 Arcadia

READING, Pa- Arcadia notched two goals late in the first half to take a lead that they would never relinquish as the Lions (9-6-1, 3-2-1 MACC) fell to their conference opponent 4-2 Tuesday night at Shirk Stadium.

Senior Dylan Shipe handed Albright an early 1-0 lead over the No. 12 ranked Knights when the defender scored on a rebound in the 19th minute. The Knights (15-1, 5-1 MACC) didn't trail for long. Tara Smith gathered a loose ball in front of Albright's net to beat goalkeeper Alexis Tunney low to tie the score at 1 at 28:48. With less than eight minutes remaining in the first half, Arcadia struck again as Jess Kelly's shot found the back of the net, and Arcadia took a 2-1 lead into the half.

After a 36 minutes of scoreless action in the second half, Jackie Glanfield put the Knights up two.  Alex Estrella centered the ball from the right side of the field to Glanfield, who navigated the ball past Tunney in the 82nd minute. The Lions battled back less than three minutes later as senior Emily Sousa sailed a shot from the 30-yard line behind Arcadia's goalkeeper, Taelor Rivera, to make the score 3-2. The pace of game became more physical as the two teams challenged one another until the final minute. Kayla Haberbosch weaved past Albright defenders to beat Tunney low and put Arcadia up 4-2 with 19 seconds remaining in the game.

The Lions season continues on Saturday afternoon when the team travels to conference opponent Lebanon Valley College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
