NEWTOWN, Pa. – Alexis Solt of the Albright women's soccer team was named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week for her effort against Penn State Abington. The Player of the Week honor is the first of Solt's career.
Solt earned the start as the Lions goalie in their first game of the season this past weekend. The senior goalkeeper made six saves to preserve the clean sheet. Solt's biggest save of the night came in the final stages of the game stopping a shot from Penn State Abington at close range.
Over the course of her career and including this past weekend's game, Solt now has eight such games making six or more saves. The shutout was the fourth of her career.
Solt faced 11 total shots but none were good enough to beat Solt helping the Lions to a season opening scoreless draw.
The Lions will host Rowan this Wednesday, September 3 at 4:00 p.m.
