READING, Pa.- Riley Gerenda took a perfect game into the fifth inning of the first game to lead Albright to an 8-0 win.

Albright put the first runs of the afternoon on the board when Armida Roman singled up the middle, scoring Regina Milburn and Stephany Courtney who each previously singled to get on base.

Next up, Hannah Belair reached on an error and advanced to second base while Roman advanced to third.

That set up a single by Madison Bear, driving in Roman to put Albright up 3-0.

Stefanie Braciszewski drove in the fourth run of the inning with a single up the middle to put Albright up 4-0 going into the top of the fourth inning.

After another one-two-three inning, Albright put up another run in the bottom of the fourth when Milburn doubled to right field, scoring Courtney. With two outs, Corinne Garuffe singled up the middle scoring Milburn and Abigail Lord to extend the Lion's lead to 7-0.

Courtney put an end to the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when she doubled to center field, driving in Bear.

Courtney recorded two hits, two runs and an RBI in the first game. Milburn recorded three hits, two runs and an RBI. Roman had two hits and two RBI's. Garuffe had one hit and two RBI's.

Gerenda threw a one hitter and recorded eight strikeouts in the win.

Garuffe lead Albright to a 9-3 win in the second game with three hits and three RBI's to complete the sweep.

After surrendering a run to Lancaster Bible in the top of the third inning, Albright answered back in the bottom of the third. Jordan Chell reached second on a single and throwing error by the shortstop.

She was quickly brought home by Jessica Rodriguez who singled to right field. Rodriguez was driven in on a single by Stephanie Pomante to put the Lions up 2-1.

After the Chargers regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning, 3-2, Albright answered back again.

Kelly Cembrale started off the bottom of the fifth for Albright was a single. Then she took off and stole second base. Chell advanced Cembrale to third on a single. Both players, ended up scoring on two different wild pitches as Albright retook the lead, 4-3.

Garuffe drove in two runs on a triple and ended up scoring on the third wild pitch of the inning to increase the lead to 7-3.

Albright added another run in the inning when Lord doubled to right center, scoring Brianne Long.

Garuffe added another insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning when she singled to right field, scoring Rodriguez.

Chell recorded two hits and two runs in the second game. Rodriguez recorded one hit, three runs and one RBI. Pomante had two hits and one RBI. Lord had one hit and one RBI.

Camille Sears was the winning pitcher for Albright as she pitched all seven innings and struck out five batters.

Albright returns to the diamond on Saturday when they play University of Maine, Presque Isle at home. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
