READING, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team will travel to Stevenson for the quarterfinal round of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament tomorrow, Feb. 23
rd, at 6 pm.

MAC Commonwealth Tournament: Albright is the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will travel to the No. 4 seed Stevenson. The winner will face either the No. 1 seed Messiah or the No. 8 seed Alvernia on Friday, Feb. 25
th for the semifinal round. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 27
th.
Records: Albright enters the tournament with a 12-10 overall record and 7-9 in conference play. Stevenson enters postseason action 11-12 overall and 8-8 in the MAC Commonwealth. The two teams last met on Saturday when the Mustangs defeated the Lions 76-60
Scouting the Lions: Albright ranks fifth in the MAC Commonwealth in points per game with 59.0. Senior
Gabby Boggs leads the Lions offense and ranks second in the conference averaging 16.8 points per game. Boggs also leads the conference in rebounds per game with 12.6 while Senior
Brady Wassel is sixth in the conference at 9.6 rebounds per game. Senior
Amina Rauf paces the team and the conference in three-point field goals with 44 on the season. Senior
Abby Gaffney leads the conference in assists per game at 4.1 and ranks third in assist to turnover ratio.
Lions in the Playoffs: The Lions have made an appearance in the postseason the past seven out of eight years excluding the shortened season in 2021 due to COVID-19. Albright's last postseason playoff appearance in the 2019-20 season featured a semi-final victory over Widener and a trip to the championship game against Messiah where they fell 78-69.
Scouting the Mustangs: Stevenson sits just under Albright in points per game at 56.4. Senior Olivia Coleman leads the Mustangs offense with 13.6 points per game and ranks fourth in the conference by averaging 10.9 rebounds. Junior Aysia Ferguson averages 8.0 points while Senior Kellie Jonhson averages 7.3.
The Mustangs in the Playoffs: Stevenson is appearing in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament for the second straight season, aside from the shortened 2021 season due to COVID-19. In the Mustangs last playoff appearance, they were eliminated in the semifinal round of postseason action in 2020 with a 78-44 loss to Messiah.
Series: The Mustangs lead the series with a 11-10 record over the Lions. Albright dropped both regular season games to Stevenson earlier this year and will match up against the Mustangs for the third time this season.
Last Meeting: Albright lost a hard-fought game on Saturday at Stevenson and could not overcome the Mustangs shooting in the third quarter as they outscored the Lions 23-9. The Lions fought back from a 19-point deficit to bring them within eight points with five minutes remaining, but that was the closest they would get.
Head Coaches: Janice Luck has posted a 267-226 record in 19 seasons as the head coach of Albright. This is her tenth MAC Commonwealth Tournament appearance for the Lions at the helm of the women's basketball program.
Jackie Boswell is in her eleventh season as the head coach of Stevenson. She holds a 153-127 overall record with the Mustangs. This will be Boswell's sixth MAC Commonwealth Tournament appearance at the helm of the Stevenson women's basketball program.
