HAVRE de GRACE, Md. – Men's golf wrapped up the two day "Battle at Bulle Rock" Tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Today's weather was far more unfavorable than yesterday's creating tougher playing conditions overall. Despite the tough conditions, Albright took home 2
nd out of 11 teams. The Lions two-day score came in at 622.
Albright's team score came in at 320 on the second day of the tournament. The day one score of 302 and today's score combined to give the Lions a 2
nd place finish overall. Christopher Newport, who ended the season last year ranked as the #25 team in the Division III, was the only team to beat the Lions in the field. Christopher Newport won with a two-day tournament score of 603.
Of the MAC Commonwealth participants in the field, Albright came out on top. Alvernia, Eastern, Hood, Stevenson and York all represented the conference in the tournament. The Lions topped Alvernia by 22 strokes, Stevenson by 29 strokes, York by 33 strokes, Hood by 38 strokes and Eastern by 86 strokes. York ended last season ranked 75th in all of Division III.
With today's strong performance Albright is now ranked as the 99th best team in Division III. The ranking puts them just behind York College in the rankings staking claim to the second best team in the MAC Commonwealth or Freedom. Albright finds themselves ahead of traditional powers such as McDaniel and Swarthmore.
Strong winds and cold conditions played a factor in today's rounds resulting in faster greens than yesterday and an overall tougher day on the course. Despite the challenging day, Albright saw four of their five golfers finish inside the top 15 on the individual leaderboard.
Jonatan Liljeblad started his round at one under through four holes birding the par three third hole. Lilejblad tallied another round in the 70's today shooting a 77 which led the Lions team on the day. The sophomore earned a T5 finish navigating the course with finesse and skill.
Ben Egin had a nice bounce back round this afternoon with a round of 79. Egin climbed up the individual leaderboard and finished the tournament in T9 position. Egin's back nine was fantastic as Egin pared each and every hole on the back nine vaulting himself inside the top 10.
Federico Cobos Kallmann ended his two days finishing in T9. Cobos Kallmann shot an 82 today earning the top 10 finish. Cobos Kallmann now has finishes of T7, T15 and T7 this year in a good start to the Lions first-year at Albright.
Nontaphat Veeratecha played well over the two days finishing with a round of 82. The first-year Lion pared five straight holes on holes 7-12 playing well through the middle holes of his round.
Evan Twyman ended the two-day tournament with a round of 85 this afternoon. Twyman was able to steady his round on the final four holes by way of paring each one. Tywman finished T15 as a testament to his strong play across the two days.

Albright will play in their final tournament of the fall next Monday, October 21 at the LVC Dutchmen Fall Invitational. Play will get underway at 12:00 p.m. at Lebanon Country Club.
