Softball Opens April Schedule Against Penn State Brandywine

The Albright Lions softball team opened up their April schedule on Monday afternoon on the road against Penn State Brandywine. The Nittany Lions took both games of today’s twin bill.

MEDIA, Pa. -  The Albright College softball team (3-17) begun their April portion of the schedule on Monday afternoon on the road at Penn State Brandywine (16-6). The Nittany Lions took both ends of today's double header over the Lions.

Today's games marked the first two of six games total this week for the Lions. The Lions will play Delaware Valley and Stevenson later this week.
 
GAME 1: L, 11-2

Marissa Rovenstine tallied the first triple in her Albright career in the third inning of today's game one. The triple scored Luliette Licata from first for Rovenstine's eighth RBI of the season. Rovenstine has back to back games with an RBI and is hitting .288 on the season.

Monica Hernandez tallied her team leading 10th RBI of the season in the third inning scoring Rovenstine from third with a single up the middle.

Madison Lasko registered her second multi hit game of the season finishing 2-2 at the plate. Lasko now has a multi-hit game in two of the last three games.
 
GAME 2: L, 7-2
The Lions were able to out hit Penn State Brandywine seven to six in game two but were unable to turn the hits into runs.

Of the seven team hits, Slaydon Fisher recorded two of them going 2-3 with two singles. The multi hit game is the third of the year for Fisher and the third such game in the last five games played overall.

Aliza Langlois recorded her first RBI of her career in game two. The RBI came in the fourth inning on a single through the left side that scored Veronica Heckman.

Juliette Licata was credited with the second RBI of the game for the Lions tallying the RBI on a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning. Licata now has seven RBIs and eight walks this season.

Rounding out the hits in game two for the Lions was Heckman, Rovenstine, Lasko and Hernandez. The hit for Heckman marks the seventh hit in the last eight games for the senior outfielder.

Rovenstine, Lasko and Hernandez all finished with at least one hit in both games of today's double header.
