WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Men's golf opened up the two-day Northeast Elite Shootout this afternoon at the Williamsport Country Club. After day one, Albright sits in 12
th but is well positioned to make a move heading into tomorrow's day two.
Albright's team score came in at 298, their second lowest team score of the season for any round. The Elite Shootout field is one of the strongest fields Albright will play in all season. A total of 20 teams took to the course today with Albright finishing in 12
th after day one.
The Lions will look to climb the leaderboard tomorrow being just three strokes behind Allegheny College who is in 9
th. With another strong team score tomorrow, the Lions will surely finish with a high position among an elite field.
Evan Twyman and
Ben Egin played similar rounds both coming in at 73, good for just two over par. Twyman found birdies on holes number 4, 11 and 16. Egin's birdies came on holes 9 and 16 recording a hole under par on each nine. The duo finished T28 after day one.
Jonatan Liljeblad and
Sam Elsen also tied on the leader board today with rounds of 76. Liljeblad tallied three birdies on the back nine to steady his round while Elsen played steadily through his round recording his birdie on hole 18.
Charles Bailey rounded out the Lions in action today coming in with an 81. Bailey played well on the par fives today playing them at an even par.
