IJAMSVILLE, Md. – The Albright men's golf team officially got their '24 fall season underway on Tuesday (Sept. 3) afternoon at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Hood College. The Lions finished fourth overall with a team score of 318. The 318 team scored was especially impressive this afternoon considering the level of difficulty of the course and the windy conditions throughout the round.
RESULTS
The 2024 fall schedule commenced this afternoon for the Albright golf team playing in their first invitational of the season. Coach Lamm is back leading the way for the Lions as head coach of both the men's and women's golf programs at Albright. Coach Lamm is entering his sixth year overall at Albright.
There were seven teams in action today at the Blazer Invitational including the hosts Hood College, Stevenson, McDaniel, Marymount and Albright. Albright finished with a team score of 318 which was one stroke behind Stevenson's A team and 13 strokes ahead of Marymount.
A pair of first-year student athletes led the way for Albright this afternoon.
Federico Cobos and
Nontaphat Veeratecha both displayed no signs of nervousness playing in their first collegiate event. Cobos and Veeratecha both finished in a tie for 7
th overall with an 18-hole score of 78.
Evan Twyman, who is entering his junior season, turned in a solid round to begin his '24 fall season. Twyman finished just one stroke behind teammates Cobos and Veeratecha shooting a 79 this afternoon. Twyman's round was good for a t10 finish.
Oliver Liljeblad and
Chris DiRita rounded out the five Lions in action today. Liljeblad shot an 83 for a t21 finish while DiRita turned in a score of 87 for a t26 finish.
