FLEETWOOD, Pa. – Men's golf strong play continued Friday afternoon during the first round of the Bear Invitational hosted by Ursinus. The Lions "B" team came in at 309 placing them in second after the first 18-holes.
RESULTS
Albright concluded the first of two rounds on Friday. The tournament is being held at Berkleigh Golf Club and is hosted by Ursinus College.
Penn College leads the Lions by four strokes sitting in first place. Ursinus "A" team trials Albright by 10 strokes sitting in third place. A total of nine teams is competing in this weeks field.
Jonatan Liljeblad matched his low round of the season with a 73. Liljeblad's score has him in solo fourth at just one over par. Two of the three golfers that are ahead of Lilejblad are from Division I institution, Villanova.
August Fredrik Alhanko fired his fifth consecutive round in the 70's this afternoon with a round of 77. The back nine was played at even par as the sophomore Lion parred each hole from holes 10-18.
Chris DiRita is T16 heading into tomorrow after a shooting a 79 today. The score was good for well over better than half the field as DiRita birdied the eighth hole which propelled him to a back nine at just two over par.
Ashton McKechan played today's round at eight over par with an 80. A birdie on hole five started McKechan's best stretch of the day as the first-year player played holes five to 14 at even par.
Charles Bailey rounded out the Lions in action on day one shooting an 83. Bailey was able to end his round on a high note as he birded the final hole of the day.

The Lions will return to Berkleigh Golf Club tomorrow (Oct. 11) for round two of the Bear Invitational as the team looks to track down Penn College to claim another tournament victory.
