FLEETWOOD, Pa. – Men's golf "B" team trails only Johnson & Wales University (N.C.) atop the leaderboard after day one of the Golden Oaks Shootout. The team finished with a team score of 298 placing them in second. Three of the five Lion golfers concluded round one inside the top 10 including
Federico Cobos Kallman who is tied for first.
RESULTS
A day after the Lions saw their "A" team set the new program low single day score (291) and team score (593), the "B" side recorded their best team score of the season with a 298. Alvernia's "A" team trails the Lions by five strokes sitting in third.
Cobos Kallman is tied for first with Phelps Wang from Stevens with a round of 70. The two under par round is the best during the fall season for the sophomore. After a one over par front nine, Cobos Kallman lit up the back nine recording two eagles and two birdies for a 33 coming in.
Evan Twyman is T5 with a one over par 73 to tie his best round of the fall season. Birdies on holes three, four, twelve and fourteen showed the strong form Twyman was in throughout the round.
The front nine set the tone for
Jonatan Liljeblad to finish T10 with a round of 74. Liljeblad birdied three straight holes on his way to a front nine 33. Six of the seven rounds played by Liljeblad this season have been played in the 70's
Chris DiRita shot his low round of the season with an 81 this afternoon. The round included back-to-back birdies on holes two and three.
Oliver Liljeblad rounded out the Lions in action today recording a 90. Liljeblad birdied the par four second hole to give all the Lions in the lineup this afternoon at least one bridie.
