NEWTOWN, Pa. – Trent Mahoney of the Albright wrestling team has been named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Wrestler of the Week. Mahoney continued his dominant start to the season at this past weekend's Wilkes Invite.
The graduate student is ranked #9 in the country at 157 pounds. So far this season, Mahoney has made good on that ranking heading into this weekend's home dual with a 13-0 season record.
At the Wilkes Invite Mahoney went 5-0 recording every win by either pin or tech fall. Mahoney outscored his opponents 65-7 across the five bouts. Earlier this season, Mahoney swept the competition at the Alvernia Invite to give him his first of two individual crowns this season.
Mahoney and the Lions will make their home debut this Saturday, November 22 against Scranton in a dual match. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. and will take place in the Bollman Center.
