Washington, D.C. – Albright Softball (3-11) traveled to play the Gallaudet Bison (3-14). Both games saw the Lions offensive come to life as the team picked up their first double-header sweep of the season.
Game 1:
Alexis Laboy started on the mound for the Lions and recorded her second win of the season after pitching five innings.
The Lions offense scored five runs in the first inning while keeping up the pressure with another seven runs in the fourth inning.
Slaydon Fisher and
Madison Lasko led the way for the offense and each recorded a pair of RBIs for the Lions. Lasko's three hits in game one ended up being a game high.
Aliza Langlois recorded two hits and came around to score a team high three times including off of a
Juliette Licata triple in the sixth inning.
Gabriella Weiss continues to impress in her first year and closed out the game with a scoreless inning in relief of Laboy for a 15-5 win.
Game 2:
Game two also featured an explosion from the Lions offense as the team plated 10 runs over the course of seven innings.
The Lions responded from a 4-0 deficit in the first inning and scored seven combined runs in the second and third to take a 7-4lead going into the fourth inning.
Three more runs scored in the seventh inning would give them all the momentum needed to close out a sweep with a 10-5 victory.
Ryleigh Prinz helped ignite the team's offense and picked up a pair of hits for a team high two RBIs.
Joining Prinz in the RBI category were
Alexis Laboy,
Juliette Licata and
Aliza Langlois.
Caitlin Mahady pitched five innings in relief and only surrendered one run as she closed out game two for the Lions.
