FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Albright men's golf team was well represented on Monday afternoon at the Moselem Cup hosted by Premiere College Tournaments. The Moselem Cup will be played over the course of today and tomorrow at Moselem Springs Golf Club.
Day 1 Results
It total, 10 members of the Albright golf team will tee it up over the next two days. Today's round was played in unseasonably cold weather, under cloudy skies and an overall damp course.
The field this week features 13 total teams including two Albright teams. Allegheny College is the highest rated team in the field this week entering play today ranked 67
th. The Lions varsity team is ranked 90
th in Division III, being the second highest rated team teeing up today and tomorrow.
The "Red" team recorded a team score of 324 and the "White" team shot 323.
Nontaphat Veeratecha led the way with a round of 75. Veeratecha is in a good spot heading into tomorrow's round two ending today in a tie for 10
th. He recorded two birdies on the round while playing the par fives at one under par.
Jonatan Liljeblad,
Charles Bailey and
Chris DiRita all came in under 80 with rounds of 79. The 18-hole score is good for T26 out of a total of 66 golfers in the field.
Oliver Liljeblad ended day one with a round of 81 to place T32 heading into day two. Liljeblad birdied the par four 17
th hole to highlight his round.
Ben Egin was just behind O. Liljeblad with a round one score of 82. Egin played his last four holes at just one over par earning a birdie on the par three 18
th hole.
Sam Elsen,
Federico Cobos Kallmann,
Evan Twyman and
Ethan Beidler rounded out the 10 total Lions in action this afternoon. Elsen shot an 84, Cobos Kallmann an 88, Twyman a 58 and Beidler a 93.
